It is funnysad that The Source actually sent out a press release announcing My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” mentions The Source Magazine but we’re going to talk about it anyway. I couldn’t imagine either Kanye or Chris Rock reading The Source with any regularity at this point in their lives. It’s possible that Ye wrote it in there to shout out the big homie but instead I imagine it going down like this. Kanye reaches out to Rock, Rock is down but quickly realizes that he hasn’t paid attention to hip hop in several years. So, on his next trip to the grocery store he thumbs through the most recent issue of The Source, finds something topical, and then runs with it. Not clowning though. “Blame Game” is the best song on the album and might well prove to be the best of Ye’s career and Chris’ little rant hasn’t yet played out the way little rants on rap albums often do. There will likely be a big market for “Yeezy Reupholstered My Pussy” T-Shirts come Christmas time.
