Hello potential spammers and aspiring rappers. This is not an open submission rap blog. I do not want to hear your demo. I do not want any unsolicited music, period. No matter how great you might think it is. I say this not to be jerkish but to save both of our time. Because I can’t do anything for you until you do something for yourself. No blog has ever broken a rapper. It’s the 21st century and rappers break themselves.
So stop sending emails and focus on your craft. Make songs, do shows, network with your peers, build with a small community on or offline, take their feedback graciously. If and when your music becomes great those same people will be the first to spread it organically. Then I and all the other competent rap bloggers will be forced come to you. Cream really does rise in hip hop. And when it does it’s going to feel a lot better than it would if I just put your unpolished and untested piece of shit demo out there for people to ignore.
With that being said, if you actually want to communicate with me as a human being - chat about life or music (other people’s music, not yours!), ask a personal question, inquire about advertising or freelancing, praise me gently or send provocative jpgs (ladies) - then by all means, I can be reached at bluntobjectivity (at) gmail dot com. But keep in mind that if you do send unsolicited mp3s or add me to your shitty email blast list you will be blocked instantly. And then if there comes a legitimate reason for us to communicate or do work together in the future we will not be able to. And that would be a shame. But I already lost one gmail account to you goons and I’m not going to let it happen again.
